Honoring Two Difference Makers
This past weekend, we celebrated the careers of Jack Burdett and Sherry Wilson, who have been with Miles Production Co. and The Miles Foundation cumulatively for 33 years.
Jack and Sherry both started at Miles Production in 1981, as an accountant and secretary, respectively. Throughout their tenure at Miles Production they both worked their way into positions of leadership and responsibility – but, more importantly, they built a strong personal relationship with company founder Ellison Miles.
So strong was their connection with Mr. Miles, in fact, that Ellison tapped Jack and Sherry to help him organize his will, set up the structure for The Miles Foundation, and act as trustees of his estate. On January 8, 2004, when Ellison Miles passed away, Jack and Sherry officially commenced their duties to carry out Mr. Miles’ legacy through The Miles Foundation.
Over the last 10 years, Jack and Sherry have not only strengthened the mission of the Foundation, but they have fueled the spirit of the organization. Their passion, dedication, and respect for Mr. Miles and his objectives are a constant reminder of why we are here and what we are striving to accomplish.
Upon their retirement, we want to thank Jack and Sherry for always keeping Mr. Miles and his goals at the forefront, as we work to find ways to make a lasting impact in our community. Without their direction and commitment, the Foundation would not be where it is today.
Because of these two difference makers, we have been given an incredible opportunity to make a difference for many years to come.
We hope to make them proud.
